Preparation of melamine diphosphate Melamine diphosphate (MDP) is usually prepared by heating melamine orthophosphate at about 200 °C, but the preparation of pure melamine orthophosphate is not easy and it is difficult to keep high quahty of the product of the diphosphate, especially for factory scale production. Direct preparation of melamine diphosphate from reaction system of melamine-ammonium orthophosphate was examined at heating temperature of 190-260 °C with several kinds of mixing ratio of melamine and ammonium orthophosphate in this experiment.
