Well, the journey is finally complete with The Expanse: A Telltale Series as I have wrapped up Episode 5. I am going to be talking about the episode with limited spoilers. I will also talk about the whole entire game and my overall opinion of it. I reviewed Episode 1, Episode 2, and a combined Episode 3 and 4 already and you can feel free to look at those individually for more details of each one.

In this Episode, everything comes full circle and Drummer comes back with a vengeance against the crew member she got overtaken by. I am still not going to divulge who it was as some people still want to play the game and I am trying to keep this as spoiler free as possible. It’s not hard to find out who on the internet though… Anyway, Drummer comes back aboard the ship and immediately has a choice to either kill someone or fight back again TOR. For the first time, I kind of hesitated of what to do but I ended up sparing this person and fighting back against TOR. Then, within a few minutes another big choice that I had to make. Do I leave Vergil or do I help him overcome his panic attack? I decided to help him through his attack and he calmed down. Then I helped Khan with a pirate attack. After this, came the confrontation with the new captain and Toussaint.

Remember that person from Episode 4 in the brig when you get rescued and you agreed to help her out? Well, she comes back and is there to pay her debt to Drummer after you held up your part. Europa’s Bane is captured and everyone escapes with their lives, well I mean except for Toussaint, her crew, and the crew member that overtook Drummer. My outcome might be slightly different than other players depending on choices throughout the story, but I am very happy with the one I got. Now, the ending epilogue seems to hint at what the bonus episode might be about as Drummer gets invited to go somewhere to support an individual establishing a new OPA. I am not sure if this will be the bonus or if it will be about someone else, but I am intrigued into seeing what it could be.

As far as the entire game is concerned, it was a great adventure and I am glad that this was my first true Telltale game. I have dabbled in the Telltale scene by watching others play games like The Walking Dead, Batman, and other games from them. Decision based QTE titles haven’t been my favorite genre before but they are indeed games I have played before and I have been wanting to play more recently. I have been thinking about playing the The Wolf Among Us, and Guardians of the Galaxy Telltale games. After liking this game a lot, I think I might just take a plunge into them when I can. If you’re a fan of Telltale, The Expanse is an absolute no brainer, especially if you want Telltale to stay in the game…no pun intended. I was excited for this game every other week and it came up with a final episode that doesn’t leave too much to the imagination but also leaves room for more development with the crew.
